BEST AWP PLAYS BY VIRRE

Best AWP Plays by Virre

Written by anthony on 23. January 2018 18:11

The year is 2016.

(It may or may not be.  I actually have zero memory of when this upcoming anecdote occured.  But we'll call it 2016 for brevity's sake.)

The year is 2016.

Tweeday moved on from being a once-a-day CSGO movie editor.  He is now a stay-at-home dad for his two cute children.  His boy, a Bichon Frise mix, and his girl, this annoying mouse that won't get out of his floorboards despite copious amounts of cheese left at the exits, love him dearly for his career choice as a Youtube star.  A void has now been left for teenage boys that thrived off of seeing what Twitch clips they missed from the previous day.  Anarchy is imminent.  Black eyeliner sales skyrocket and Hot Topic becomes relevant again.  All is lost.

But wait... at dawn from the East comes Virre the Grey: the hero the world needs.  He slides right in riding off the coattails of his "Where Amazing Happens" video and the overall need for bunny hopping movies.  His finesse with mouse, keyboard, and Glow FX captivate the audience and win them over.  He has supplanted Tweeday and now sits atop the Twitch throne.  But what's this?  New contenders enter the stadium.  SiCKO and Janixs want this glory.  You could say a... game... of... thrones..... has started?  No?  A bit forced, ya?  Alright.  I'm done.

Why the hell did I even start writing this article?  Ohhhhhh, right.  Virre recently released a Best of 2017 AWP compilation where he obsessed over the big green gun for 365 days.  Then he put together one giant 6 minute video of all the most dramatic frag sequences with it.  The outcome?  Shoutcasting and IGS were pretty loud and overbearing.  Additionally, it appeared Virre manually added in the AWP shots, as it was weird watching some scenes and noticing that they were missing footsteps/grenade bounces/other SFX.  Freecams were a bit sloppy at times.  You can tell he was Russian them a little.

No, that wasn't an autocorrect.  It... it was a pun.

Other than that, it was pretty clean and he included quite a lot of really awesome plays from the year.  Syncing was definitely prevalent and his use of an epic-styled song gave it a certain dramatic feel (though it got a little boring after the first 3 minutes).  For someone who releases movies as often as my body metabolizes coffee (I drink A LOT of coffee, by the way), I was actually impressed with this.  Tell me what you thought!

Okay, this was very very interesting! I liked it from start to finish and the no footsteps thing was a good choice to really make all of the song and shots/kills!
great stuff
