Gah! Finally someone who doesnt think Spectre was that good! I mean, Christoph Waltz looked like he was falling asleep during his role. My god. I've never seen such an underwhelming part written for such an amazing actor. As for the movie, the first third of the film was fucking brilliant. Dialogue, cinematography, everything was great. Then the second and third act DIED. Its like they got bored and wrote the remaining 2/3 of the movie in half the time it took for the first act. That action sequence with the plane in the snow was so one dimensional. Just felt like a boring and lazy attempt at something thrilling. Wanted so much more in a Bond movie and got this.

My god that airplane that crashed intoo those cars.....Biggest idiot award goes to the drivers! How do you NOT see a huge broken, firery plane sliding towards you?! after that I felt the same as you, like it died. So sad
6/10 for spectre because of the cars and the woman. DAMN she was looking fine.

CONTINUING ON STAR WARS, SPOILERS AHEAD IN CASE THAT'S STILL RELEVANT

I was partly very annoyed with Force Awakens. It was well executed, so yes, they can definitely make a good Star Wars movie. But why did it have to be a repeat of Episode IV? I can understand going for thematic similarities but this was a bit too much.

And were they dreading politics so much that they couldn't be assed to tell First Order's story properly? After the movie I had to go check its wiki to see what's what. They could've made it interesting, now the Order came out a hollow copy of the Empire. Even more so now that the Order essentially became the Empire since they blew up their biggest enemy. Oh great.
And Starkiller base was just a huge joke. Draining a star? It's one of those cases where thinking bigger is better just comes back to bite you in the ass. Making the Order seem like a credible threat could've been done with a lot more class.

Kylo was great until the mask came off and the character went full emo. Again, too much. However, there's a chance for redemption here: the second movie can make Kylo graduate from his teenager shell and become a more credible baddie.

That's the thing though, the second movie has a lot of baggage already. The script has to make sense of Rey's super powers, explain why Luke left his own jedi mess behind, write Snoke into an interesting character, avoid making the Order vs. Resistance a copy of the Empire vs. Rebels, come up with good stories for Poe and Finn...
It's going to be tough. But I remain hopeful and I really look forward to getting more Star Wars.

I'd give the movie 7/10 and the more I think about it the less points I want to give. The annoyances were just that glaring. But right after the movie I felt more positive towards it, I mostly liked the characters (though Kylo aside they didn't seem to try much on the Order's side), use of Han Solo was great, there was a great physicality to the action and, basically, I just like Star Wars.

In any case I feel like this was a weird reset and the next movie will be the actual beginning of the new Star Wars story.

I agree! I was so happy with the movie after I left the cinema, but after a started talking to my gf about it(which went with me) we came to the conclusion that the movie was a (quality) rip from the previous movie(s). I also agree with the emoface...I was looking for some kind of bad-ass, then comes out of the helmet a Snape look-a-like....WTF! lol!

7.8/10 for starwars being starwars,

Haha thanks. I'm nominated for best costume design!

I totally agree with you guys about Kylo Ren. He was super bad ass until that helmet/mask came off. It ruined him a bit for me.

I had not seen the original trilogy since I was a kid but after watching The Force Awakens I felt the need to, so I watched em all last week and now I want to see them again. I also feel the need to watch TFA once more to fully appreciate it now that I have more knowledge. I still loved it the first time tho, even with all the weird coincidences and events that happened in it.

...Agreed. And i am a Bond _fanboy_

I mean, i enjoyed it to a certain degree, because of that. But i do agree. And talk about wasting the casting of C. Waltz. That being said, i read an interesting (or heard?) point about that. He has basically played a Bond villain since he broke through, in every role. And once he actually was cast as one, he has kind of out played that characther.

If you want to predict some Oscar winners, now is the time (before Sunday 28th).

I really want Star Wars and Mad Max to win something, but not sure what. Mad Max may win best makeup (and something more). Star Wars perhaps best visuals or sound?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice [Ultimate Edition]

For reference, I didn't see the theatrical version.
Being close to 3 hours long I thought it would have some boring downtime moments, but I never really felt that. I kinda liked the political thriller stuff. Affleck was pretty good, the rest were acceptable, except Eisenberg, he was a bit annoying as Lex Luthor.

A few minor issues here and there, which you can guess yourself. The trailers showed a bit too much sometimes, which sort of ruined the end battle.

~ 7/10

Huge eisenberg fan, so totally fanboyed out on him the entire movie. Hated Gal Gadot. No clue what they were thinking casting her. Shes going to ruin the franchise and lose them money (especially when she makes her own spinoff). GG them, then.
