CS 1.6 HUD Scale on >= 1080p

#1 - 6. Dec 2021 13:26
Hi all,

I've seen this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDYj2UPyzxU

It's a 1440p video but the hud looks more like it was captured on a lower CS resolution (like 960x540) or something.

Normally the HUD does not scales with the resolution and looks bad AF (smaller icons, smaller text, higher text line spacing and thinner crosshair) on higher res.

Random 1080p gameplay as comparison (looks like that guy already changed font size, normally even smaller):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG0pxS8yTOU

You can change the trackerscheme.res for the font sizes, but you can't change weapon kill icons, crosshair or line spacing.

How you think the creator managed that?

Maybe he actually separately captured the HUD on a lower resolution with HLAE and later scaled it up to 1440p, but then the text should look pixalated. But it doesn't.

Any ideas :( ?

(Already tried to contact the creator)

Most likely upscaled the entire original video to 1440p from a lower resolution.

He answered, it's like you said. Recorded in 1280x720 and upscaled to 2k.
But damn, it doesn't look upscaled at all ;D Almost zero loss in quality.
