CSGO force higher res???

#1 - 21. Jun 2017 21:39
Hey all,

Trying to get back into CSGO video editing for practice of sorts.

Running a MSI Radeon R9 280X

I downloaded

&
https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU

I had luck getting my 1440x900 monitor to 1920x1080 on desktop/csgo res, but that involves running everything fullscreen, aka could kill my monitor. The first link wasn't compatible.

Anyone know a way/hack to make 1920x1080 pop up in CSGO as an option, so I can render at any resolution?

Thanks!

1) If you are only practicing, do you really need to go for 1080p?

2) I think me and ripieces did some experiements with higher resolutions than my monitor supported back in 1.6, with HLAE, but I don't remember exactly how it worked and if it would even work for CS:GO. It might be possible to play the game in say 1440x900 but force HLAE to export the images in a different resolution. A few issues we had was that part of the images were black (because technically the image was drawn "outside" of my monitor, but I think it was fixed with a different render technique.)

Maybe ripieces can shed some light when he logs on :D
