MickenseN 3 - Overflow

#1 - 8. Jan 2010 16:34
Hi Style,

I can't be assed to write a big documentation about this movie, but this is a movie starring French player (He is not know very much internationally, but he is well known in France, at least he said that) with some clean editing I suppose. Movie was made by me and my friend (Crushed he is) in a pretty short time-term. But I hope you will enjoy watching this movie.

Peace, love & understanding

EDIT: By the way in outro it wasn't mentioned but for encoding video I used "The JuGGaKNot Way" encoder, so I would like to thank him for making this tool.

EDIT: Youtube link has been updated, but may be processing right now.

Nice try but I really think you should stay away from default vegas transitions/plugin transitions as they show no creativity at all. It doesn't take much effort to render the 2 seperate layers you want transitioned and mix them up in after effects.. some nice frags though. 6/10 from me.

Didn't like it. The transitions annoyed me a bit, don't like a lot of the pan/crop usage and in general some pretty annoying stuff (4:34 is an example). I can see you have some good ideas and some are decent executed but all in all it was just messy and didn't have a good feeling to it. The music felt just wrong at most times, but as you said he chose the music (bad choice, YOU make the movie, YOU decide soundtrack). All in all disappointed and I thought your previews work was better.

I don't know whats with me, but i like this fragmovie and songs were ubersick. Some tips by me , don't use too much blinking effects and shit like that, transitions were also standard.. good luck for your next project

More popular/creative movies have segments or a buildup like eve for example, starts off relatively slow paced and builds up all the way to the end with a consistent amount of flow and creativity. I think it depends on the music you choose because with MickenseN 3, you've just used pretty minimalistic syncing music which doesn't help the flow at all.

believe me or not, but that French guy didn't want to be made like, because he wanted it to be like people could see his in-game movements and shit, basically to impress people, when did some test renders with some cool effects he always whined and told to turn back, because his "cool in-game skill" is behind the scenes then.

If not, then it's your fault. :P Why make a movie when you can't even decide music and effects yourself :D

I did realize that it was a bad idea to help in making this movie. Because crushed asked me to help him, but when we were more that half way through, we realized that guy is retarded a bit :D
