Cast Your Vote

Come one, come all. Step right up and vote for your favorite videos courtesy of the “Best Damn Movie Competition Period.” These are truly the crème de la crème provided from some of the world’s top movie producers and dark horse video producers who have hidden their talents from the world until now. We wouldn’t lie to you would we? After all it’s our job to provide only the finest in e-sports movies. Where else does your vote matter as much anyway? The US presidential election? I think not.

Before we proceed, we of course must thank our gracious sponsors and guest judges, NationVoice Communications and BFG Tech. Also we’d like to thank our fine panel of judges. The judges spent long hours staring to their monitors, inspecting every pixel, analyzing every frag, and timing every beat. They’ve narrowed the field to 10 finalists, selected the competition’s best intros and awarded 3 honorable mentions for videos that just missed the cut. The stage is now set for our fine viewing audience to select the winners of the “Best Damn Movie Competition Period!”

Best Competition Introduction $500.00 Winner
Single Gaming 2: Spectre
Aries Films

An extremely well polished and professional introduction that cleaned house with our sponsors. One of the few videos that utilized 3D rendering and it did so in a classy way.

2nd Place - Destiny 3 (Pangea Films)
3rd Place - Machine of Hate (MAN Creations)

Honorable Mentions
It is important to define our definition of 'honorable mention'. First consider there were 29 videos entered into this competition, yet only 10 could be selected as finalists. No matter what you do there are going to be hard feelings, we understand and accept that. However these three films ended up in a three way tie, unfortunately that 3 way tie was just outside of reach of the top. We have decided to recognize the producers efforts with an honorable mention, however unfortunately they are not finalists.

Ancients.CSS: Episode 2 - Hybrid Movies

The introduction is very short, but we loved illumination effects the title. This no nonsense movie hops right in to the frags with an aggressive soundtrack. The sync is also top notch and adds to the fast paced aggressive atmosphere that no other movie in this competition can match. Well done to Moltes.

Inspire - Ghost Pictures

The opening frag of this movie certainly inspired a round of applause from all of the judges. Inspired is a classic styled frag movie designed to bring out the best fragger you can be. The use of a hip hop soundtrack was daring, however nicely done. Unfortunately this film lacks what others picked up, and missed the finals.

RPK: Trailer - Infected Productions

A trailer in a movie competition? Isn’t that like bringing a knife to a gun fight? Well this knife is a sharp one! No movie split the panel more drastically than this one. What this movie lacked in content, it made up in polish. The trailer has gorgeous designs, awesome CG work, and a promotion that makes RPK look like the next MMA superstar. Unfortunately most of the judges felt that the trailer lacked enough substance and it fell beyond our top ten. The anticipation for this movie almost made us forget that we have 10 finalists.

The Finalists
So how did we narrow down the candidates? Our panel of 12 judges consisted of 8 representatives from The Movie Vault with full voting rights and 4 sponsor judges that cast their votes for the best competition intro only. Each judge selected their top 10 videos and awarded 10 points for their first place vote tailing down to 1 point for the 10th place vote. The voting totals were then aggregated. For the best competition intro, each judge selected the top 3 intros and awarded 3 points for first, 2 for second, and 1 for third.

The Funeral 2 +17 points (10th)
Ghost Pictures

The most epic entry into the competition at an astounding length of 17 minutes. Funeral 2 is jam packed with frags and talent, but our judges felt that more was not necessarily more. If you like more – more frags, more music, more talent – then you’ll love this video. With good music, good creativity, and good editing this video is definitely a staple frag video. Is it good enough though?

+21 points (9th) Distortion
Ghost Pictures

A dark movie with an equally dark soundtrack. Distortion 2 builds anticipation right from the start and holds it steady. Distortion 2 takes an aggressive approach by using break style editing techniques and equally aggressive if not rough soundtrack transitions. Hopefully our overall ranking of this video is not distorted..

Single Gaming 2: Spectre +27 points (8th)
Aries Films

The winner of our best introduction competition managed to squeak into our top list as well. Single Gaming shows that its quality is no anomaly and comes back with great cinematics and editing. A short storyline with a perfectly suited soundtrack guides us through some simple yet well presented frag sequences.

+32 points (7th) Destiny 3
Pangea Films

Destiny 3 is a solid frag video with a solid intro and a great soundtrack. Although very similar to the other destiny movies, this third installment is filled with creativity and loads of frag content. The soundtrack had us tapping our feet the entire time..

Versus +34 points (6th)
Kemical Media

An extremely clean video that gives us what we all want out of a frag video: the best gaming talent pitted against each other. Although the ‘mortal kombat’ concept may be a little bit over played, the execution was good and the cast of talent was incredible.

+34 points (5th) Vivid
Underground Studios

Vivid is exactly what it advertises: a dreamy and heavily visual video that is held up by some amazing effects and new techniques. This movie may be best summed up as the psychological thriller of our competition (Vanilla Sky, anyone?) Editting plays a heavy part in this video and some may deem it ‘over the top,’ but we were thoroughly entertained..

Machine of Hate +35 points (4th)
MAN Creations

Bar none this movie is the most creative entry into our competition. Somewhat of a concept video that centers on the notions of war and politics, Machine of Hate twists our perception of what it is to frag. Machine of hate sets a mood and follows through. Like all art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but we feel confident that this will rock your world as well.

+46 points (3rd) Korean Uprising
Michael Oh

Korean Uprising embodies the energy and atmosphere of a traditional Korean PC bang. This video’s aggressive style and flourish embodies the passion of Korean E-Sports, yet also seems partially political as it provides a message of unity. Maybe I look too deeply into the message of this movie, but as enthralling as it is, I can’t help it!.

Synced 2 +53 points (2nd)
Infected Productions

The successor to one of the most successful videos of all time, Synced 2 does not disappoint. No doubt this movie features extremely tight frag to music syncing that we’ve all come to love. Synced 2 also feature some amazing visuals and one of the best soundtracks we’ve heard.

+54 points (1st) Hush
CND Productions

Hush is an utterly gorgeous creation that surprised us all. Don’t let the title fool you, this movie will not be silenced. Hush features vibrant colors and a fresh view of what a frag movie can be. Our judges thought it was best in show, but will it hold up in the eyes of the community?

Just an interesting note: if the community votes the way the judges picked, we could have a repeat of the Style Movie Competition. Pray being first followed by aL in second with his sequel to Synced. Unfortunately, most of the viewers on TheMovieVault.net are Source fans. This means the 1.6 videos are going to get less views and therefore less votes than the source videos unless the 1.6 fans can get the word out and get the 1.6 videos the votes they deserve.

I agree with #2.

Source fans are far greater in number than 1.6 fans in that site.

I am very happy with the turnout of the movies. I am especially happy that pray decided to compete cause his is #1 in my book. I think veteran movie watchers will appreciate Hush as it is refreshingly different. Others will see a movie with no textures or death notices and will rate it down. People either love it or hate it.

I didn't see any shit movies, especially any with a 9.8 rating. The highest I see is 9.1. In fact, there wasn't a single shit movie even entered. All 29 movies were at least 7.0+. It was extremely hard to get it down to 10.

Thanks for all the support, all of us at TMV are happy to hear people are happy :)

Remember, spread the word to 1.6 players about the comp, b/c if you don't Synced 2 will steal the show.

HUSH is simply the best movie out there.

Single Gaming 2 by Aries Films - sucks a bit. Some moments were good , but it was without any mood. I will watch other movies.

Synched 2 - good slow motions, despite that nothing special.

Well.. In the article, the top10, I agree some great movies, HUSH and synced 2.

But by clicking on your "Watch the videos"-link, movies like zet movie and jaegarn x2 got 9.8, which is even higher than the winner HUSH.. I do not quite understand.. :Z

!EDIT! oh those videos arent a part of the competition, my bad ;D

I don't think the movies were rated in he article.

And yea... there are huge logos next to the competition movies. Unfortunately we weren't able to put just the comp movies on one page because the movie vault doesn't allow for embedding videos.

I think Jinxed has/will post on gotfrag, is he hasn't I'll remind him.

I'm just happy people are happy.

And what happened to your movie slize?
