Wet Your Warcraft Whistle With IV

Warcraft III movies... PFFFFFFFFFFF, s'if they are worth the time...ever...ever ever. I mean, the cam system is non existent. The editing chances are near impossible and the syncing opportunities are bare minimal. That was a pretty notable attempt at using every simile to saying that the WC3 movie scene is poor. HOWEVER, foot in mouth as I witnessed a pretty entertaining film simply entitled IV.

I'd first like to say that I do play competitive Warcraft 3 and can appreciate this movie more so because of that. Ladder games, custom games, FFA's, team play, and Tower Defenses. Oh the memories. As for DOTA... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. God, i despise thee.

Negatives first? Sure. They seem to just do better when cited first. Leaves less of a bad taste in ones mouth. Like that time you and your girl were...nevermind. We'll leave those horrible teenage years behind us...unless of course you're still in them in which case I give you this advice; stay AWAY from the knives, keep your poetry to yourself, lay off the eye liner, and things DO get better after high school. Oh the years of pain and torment from the class bully. I'll never have a pair of fitting underwear ever again...

Where the hell was I? RIGHT...constructive criticism. People still, to this day, do not know how to mix audio. People, work on it. It's not hard to find appropriate transitional points or ways to end a song prematurely using Sound Forge or an audio editing program of choice. Hard fades while a song is at its climax makes it hard to stay in the moment and keep ones interest in the movie you're selling. IV doesn't seem to have mastered this. Other than this obvious flaw, the editor seems to use zooms and jump sync to add to his movie, but it ends up creating a confusing viewing experience. Also...stop naming your movie "BlahBlahBlahectectect: The Movie" YES! We are more than aware that we have just spent our precious internet bandwidth downloading a piece of media that embodies that of moving picture and sound encapsulated in a wmv/avi/mp4 container. A movie you say? I thought this was a powerpoint! Thanks for the clarification!

Positives? In a WC3 movie? Well, yes sir, please do. The gameplay is, by far, fantastic. The micro and strategic thinking involved in making some of these scenes occur is phenomenal. I applaud thee, players, for your quick improvisation and intuition. As for the cinematic and directing aspect, also quite good. He sets up a cool, epic little intro to each part (Scourge and Sentinel) and creates a great atmosphere. And the outro? Awesome idea. Dont want to spoil it, but i was not expecting that when i saw the massive amount of models running at the camera.

In closing, if youre a WC3 fan, I would certainly consider downloading this movie. A very fast paced, content oriented (but not skimming on the theatrical and cinematic aspects) movie that will keep you tuned to this editors future films.
